Arthur Wallace Stamey

It is with great sadness the family of Arthur Wallace Stamey Jr. acknowledges his passing from this life's journey in the early morning hours into the hands of our creator on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at the Greggston Nursing Home after a short illness.Arthur was born September 9th, 1953 in Lawton, OK. He was the son of Arthur Wallace Stamey Sr. and Mary Ruth Palmer. Arthur was on enrolled member of Kiowa Tribe and Choctaw heritage and Sand Creek descendent.He spent his early childhood in Lawton, OK where he attended public school and later Chilico Indian School in Newkirk, OK where he loved to tour and play the drums with his rock band. He had a great smile and sense of humor. Quite the ladies' man who loved to flirt and tease to make people laugh.In 1971 he met and married a beautiful Comanche young lady Deborah Lee Muse. They married in 1972 and had two children Arthur Wallace Stamey III (Tre) Chattanooga, TN and Brandy R. King Sarasota, FL.Arthur served 7 years in the National Guard serving his country. He was a Jack of all trades and would do anything for anybody at a drop of a hat. Always kind and giving to anyone he met.He is survived by his sister, Teresa Williams, Chickasha, OK, his son, Arthur Wallace Stamey III, his daughter, Brandy R. King; one granddaughter Jessica Y. Stamey, Middletown, OH; four grandsons; Micah King, Caleb King, Jayden King, Joseph King of Sarasota, FL. One great-granddaughter, Alicea Stamey and one great-grandson, Aydin Stamey of Middletown, OH.Nieces; Shelly Stamey, Maclomb, OK; Michael Korns, Norman, OK; Stephanie Ratley, Longview, TX. Nephew's; Michael Underwood, Chickasha, OK, Larry Cook, Chickasha, OK; Aunts; Lorraine Nicholl and Dorothy Palmer, his uncle Victor Palmer and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur W. Stamey, Sr., his mother, Mary R. Palmer, his sister Deborah Stamey; his brother, Harvey West; his daughter, Kelley Marie Stamey; his maternal grandparents William "Choctaw Bill" and Mary Clara (Mopope) Palmer; his paternal grandparents, Lightfoot West and Rena Flying Coyote, George and Imogene Palmer and Dixon and Clotia Palmer; uncles, William and Lyndeth Palmer and his aunt Eleanor Palmer.The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff of Smith Funeral Home and the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma as we take our loved one to his resting place.
