Carole Geiogamah Parker Services for Carole Geiogamah Parker, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M and a native of Anadarko, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko. Visitation and Viewing will be all day Thursday 10, January 2019. A prayer service will be also be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Smith Funeral Home. The Revered Sonny Ware will preside, and burial will follow in the Geiogamah family section of Memory Lane Cemetery. She was born February 27, 1942 at the Kiowa Indian Hospital in Lawton to Claude and Lola Mae (Clark) Geiogamah, and passed away January 1 in Albuquerque following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Roberta Dyer, Debbie Geiogamah and Renee Long. Carole is survived by her sons, Patrick Neal Parker and Daniel Geiogamah Parker, both of Albuquerque, and five grandchildren, Rachel Parker of San Diego, Ca; Michelle Parker of San Francisco, Ca; Cheryl Parker of Irvine, Ca; and Sara Parker and Samuel Parker of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her sisters Claudette Geiogamah Narcomey of Medicine Park; Margie Geiogamah of Tulsa; Robin Bledsoe of Brazoria, Texas; and Lisa Diaz of Anadarko; and three brothers, Henry Geiogamah of Los Angeles; Daniel Geiogamah and Claude Geiogamah Jr., both of Anadarko. Her surviving nieces and nephews are: David Aitson, Patty Dyer, John Allen Bird, James Antuna, Rae Saupitty, Danaht Geiogamah, Charmagne Hood, Marisa Hood, Travis Tofpi, Joanna Castro, Christina Castro, Iryon Poafpybitty, Carrie Lee Lnenicka, Mario Diaz jr, Jose Diaz, Maisy Diaz, Kirsten Geiogamah, Chris Long, Hope Long, Rochelle Moon and Isaac Long. All of these people Carole loved and touched deeply. She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, and her father, Claude Geiogamah Sr. was one of the last full-blood Kiowa tribal members. She attended school in Anadarko, at Fort Sill Indian School in Lawton, and was a 1960 graduate of Chilocco Indian School. She studied nursing at the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia and continued her education at Cameron University in Lawton. She received a Bachelors degree in business administration from the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha in 1976. She was employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for over 20 years in the Washington, D.C. headquarters and also in the Albuquerque Area Office. She was on the staffs of the Bureauâ€™s Office of Special Trustee and the BIA Trust, the Indian Youth Recreation Program and the BIA Adult Assistance Program. She retired in 2007. Carole loved music, gardening, cooking, crab fishing, collecting and travelling to visit friends and family. She cared very much for her family and friends and always extended a helping hand to those in need.
