Dwight Dixon Parton

Dwight "Dusty" Dixon Parton, 62, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Dusty was born December 5, 1952 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Fred & Lucille (Mann) Parton. He married the love of his life, Linda Chronister, on February 23, 1991 in Anadarko. Dusty was an athlete and loved his sports, especially playing fast pitch softball. He played softball for over 30 years and until recently he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play basketball and football. He played in the Oklahoma Inter Tribal Softball Team and won 3 consecutive National titles. He attended college at OSU, which was his school, but OU was pretty good and he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed pow wow's and traditional dance. Dusty was a decedent of the Caddo and Delaware Tribes and a member of Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Dusty leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Linda, of the home; 3 daughters, Dusty Lynn Parton and husband, Darren Cisco, Natalie Parton and Emily Parton all of Anadarko, Oklahoma; 1 son, Gary Parton of Anadarko, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Ben Parton, Josh Parton, Mack Mahsetky, Christopher Cisco, Patrick Cozad, Clara Cisco, Kylie Cisco, Kaley Stephenson, Kelley Stephenson, Kiera Wishon, Hailey Cisco; great grandchildren: Joree Harjo, Kiya Stephenson, Khloe Stephenson; 4 brother's: Meredith Parton of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Mike Parton & wife, Virginia of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Fred Parton Jr. of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Stephen "Dinky" Parton & wife, Charisse, of Norman, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loving friends. Dusty is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lucille Parton. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Anadarko. Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko. Tom Worcester will officiate. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko.
