Janet Kay Langley

Janet "Katie"Kay King Langley, 67 of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Carnegie Tri County Hospital. She was born March 9, 1945 to Everett and Elsie ( Mead Blanton) King in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Garber High School in Garber, Oklahoma. She worked for many years as bookkeeper for her father's grocery store, then for Tinker Air Force Base in Del City, Oklahoma. She was the queen of home sales, most recently distributor of Limu. She met the love of her life, James Ward "Jim" Langley and a week later they were united in marriage on June 21, 1983 in Gainsville, Texas. Janet's greatest love was for her Lord, her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was involved in many activities including OHCE, South Pioneers, Caddo County Fair Board and the Eakly Women's Group. She was a active member of the Methodist Church west of Oney, where she was on the quilting committee and loved making prayer quilts with her fellow church ladies She loved that each ribbon was a prayer and she knew that each quilt was a blessing to those who got one. She also loved collecting supplies for our Troops, she felt our Military was very important. She was an excellent seamstress. She made all of Jim's clothes for the endeavors they attended as part of the Beaver Creek Free Trappers. Each member had a nick name, Janet's was known as "Night Walker". Janet had a great sense of humor, a love for crossword puzzles and logic games. She loved reading, especially anything by William Johustone. She never met a stranger and when she met you she would talk your ear off. She always went that extra mile to help anyone in need. She was devoted care giver to her son, Matthew, as well as her parents and husband, Jim. She enjoyed neighbors stopping by and loved her canning circle She loved animals, especially her dog, Punkin, who will miss her. She leaves a wonderful legacy for her family. Janet will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by one son, Robert Langley of Yukon, one daughter, Kimberly (Langley) Graves and husband, Zac of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and many friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Simpson, her husband, James Langley and her parents, Everett and Elsie King. Celebration of Life are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at HighLand Methodist Church west of Oney. officiating will be Pastor Nathan Mills. Burial will follow in the Hinton Cemetery under the direction of The Fort Cobb Funeral Home in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. Family requests in lieu of Flowers, donations be made to the Highland Methodist Church or the Twin City's Fire Department in Albert, Oklahoma and the Green Acres Fire Department.
