Kathryn June Leach Neitz

Kathryn June Leach Neitz was born on October 27, 1957 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Mary Winkler, and passed from this world on March 19, 2015 surrounded by family. June was raised in Carnegie, Oklahoma and attended Carnegie Schools all 12 years. She was proud that she was one of a few that earned 12 years perfect attendance. While attending school she was active in cheerleading, basketball, FHA, FFA and was a member of Rainbow International, the young girl division associated with the Masons. June married young and raised two lovely daughters; Crystal Jean and Bonni Jo Roberts. She was a great mom and a valued member of the community. June and her girls were members of the First United Methodist Church of Carnegie, Carnegie Rodeo Club, Crows Roost Fire Department to name just a few. She was also actively involved with fundraising for St. Jude's Children Hospital. June married the "Love of her life", John Neitz on August 6, 2004. They made their home in Lawton and Edgewater Park Estates, Apache. June and John moved to their vacation home when they both retired in September 2012, in Yellville, Arkansas. They loved their simple life of gardening, raising a few animals, cooking and crafting for local farmer's markets. They are members of the Diamond City United Methodist Church and love their church family. June worked at various jobs in her youth. She was the long-time assistant for Dr. Joe Furtado. June was very smart and a very hard worker, she served as Dr. Furtado's dental assistant, bookkeeper custodian, and any other thing that Doctor needed her to be. After many years she retired from Dr. Furtado's office and took a job with the United States Public Health and worked for the DHHS/IHS in Anadarko and Lawton Indian Hospital for 10 years. She retired from IHS in August, 2011. June loved her husband, daughters and being "MiMi" to her six grandchildren. June and John came back to Oklahoma to visit with family and friends and to keep the girls in line every few months. June LOVED people and wherever she went she made fast friends and was loved by many. She was frank and honest and you always knew what June believed in, June LIVED with cancer for over 3 years, but it did not define her. She was the same honest, caring June to the end. June is survived by her husband, John of the home; daughters: Crystal Ceballos and children, Mya and Quinton of Apache, Oklahoma and Bonni and husband, James "Peeps" Kelley and sons, Talon, Logan, Tristen and Titan of Fletcher, Oklahoma; mother, Mary Green of Apache, Oklahoma; brother, Steven Seigrist and nephews, Monty Seigrist and Trent Seigrist of Apache, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Rev. Derrek Belase will officiate. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma. The family has requested that in Lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Jude's Childen's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
