Mitchell Glen Akeen

Mitchell Glen Akeen, 44, of Gracemont, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mitchell was born to Patricia Akeen and John Haury Jr. on March 19, 1970 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He went to school at Gracemont and received his GED from the Caddo-Kiowa Technical Center in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. He then went on to get his CDL and drove all 50 states as a truck driver. He also roofed for 20 years for Oklahoma Roofing Company. He's lived in California, Iowa and Utah over the years. He grew up with his grandparents, George & Ella Akeen. He was a member of the Native American Church. He married the late Lauren Gina David Sadongei and together they had one daughter, Bridgette Nicole Akeen. Mitchell was a "HUGE" OU Fan, loved going to the casino and visiting with family. Mitchell was a comical, funny, loving guy. He always made everybody smile and laugh. Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Patricia Akeen of Gracemont; one brother, Reuben Wabaunasee of Gracemont; one sister, Darcell Akeen of Gracemont; one very special daughter, Bridgette Nicole Akeen of Anadarko; grandmother, Ella Akeen of Gracemont, numerous uncles, aunts, brothers, cousins, friends and extended relatives. Mitchell is preceded in death by wife, Lauren Gina Akeen; son, Corey David Sadongei; baby brother, Erwin Clifton Pewo Jr; father, John Haury Jr.; grandfather's, George Clay Akeen Sr and Herman Haury; grandmother, Ada Littleman; cousins: Marland Swift, Terry Akeen, Louie Haury; uncles, Reuben Akeen, John Akeen; aunt's: Ladema Hunt and Georgia Ada Akeen. Prayer service: 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 27, 2015 at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, Anadarko. Funeral service: 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Anadarko. George Akeen Jr will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rock Spring Cemetery in Anadarko. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
