Robert William Dyer

Robert William Dyer, 66, passed away at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma after an extended illness, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 1, 1949 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Bobby Edsel and Zona Mae (Duree) Dyer. He married Shirley Faye Hood on September 12, 1974 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He went to work in 1973 for PSO/AEP Power Plant and worked as a supervisor until his retirement in 2010. He also served as the past minister at the Church of Christ. Robert enjoyed watching and playing sorts. He drove a stock car, played pool and golf and was on a bowling league for many years. Robert loved the Lord and his family. He is survived by: his wife, Shirley Dyer, of the home in Anadarko; two sons, Gregory Daniel Orcutt and his wife Delores of Lake Stevens, Washington and Rodney Brian Dyer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three daughters and their husbands: Janice Lynn and Jeffrey Briggs, Springfield, Missouri; Jeanne Marie and Benjamin Powell, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Monica Renee and Raymond Ferris, Anadarko; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and others who lovingly called him "Grandpa Robert"; his mother, Zona Mae Clark, Midwest City, Oklahoma; brother, Michael Allen Dyer and his wife Kathie, McCloud, Oklahoma; and sister Linda Carol Daniels and her husband, Mark, Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Edsel Dyer, his grandparents, Otto and Zella Duree and great grandson, Lucas Lee Wilkerson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Anadarko. Interment will be at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko.
