Thomas L. RatliffThomas L. Ratliff was born June 8, 1934 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Frank and Maggie (Wilson) Ratliff. He was called home by the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Carnegie at the age of 88.Tom was raised in Fort Cobb where he attended school and graduated with the class of 1952. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He joined the United States Army and proudly served our country overseas. He was honorably discharged in 1956. He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.Tom married Sue Harris on November 27, 1957 in Chickasha. They made their home north of Fort Cobb. Tom was a hard worker and a wonderful provider. He worked for Beatrice Frozen Foods, PSO and retired from the United States Postal Service after many years. For most of his life he also ran cattle, was a custom harvester and hauled hay and peanuts.Tom loved the outdoors. In his younger years he was a team roper and really enjoyed calf roping. He was an avid quail hunter and loved to fish the Washita, a race car driver, liked playing ping pong and shuffleboard. He loved the water and water skiing. He delighted in teaching people to ski and taught his children, numerous friends, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was a trick skier and even won a trophy at 60! He loved his family and family time. Spending time with the grandkids, who called him Toot Toot, was a highlight of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially his dry wit and quick smile.Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Maggie Ratliff; sisters: Cathryn Ratliff, Lavina Jones, Mary Jean Easterling and Lanora Whaley; grandson, Marvin Cassity and son-in-law, Don (Speedy) Nightingale.Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sue of the home; son, Randall Ratliff (Susan); 2 daughters: Roma Cassity (Glenn), Rhonda Johnson (Kevin); 7 grandchildren: Lacy Savage (Seth), Thomas Ratliff (Becky), Keith Johnson (Mauri), Trey Cassity (Sera), Caitlyn Stanley (Preston), Lauren Ratliff and Grace Cassity; 4 great grandchildren: Gunner and Denver Savage, James Stanley and Roan Ratliff; 3 sisters: Wanda King, Frankie Conrad and Norma Harris along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Visitation will be Tuesday 1:00 -8:00, Wednesday 9:00 - 8:00, Thursday 9:00-12:30. Family visitation will be Wednesday 5:30-7:30. Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M., Thursday, February 9, 2023 with military honors, at the Oak Grove Cemetery with Rocky Repp officiating.
