Obituary for Betty Frank

Betty Joe was the 7th child born to Lida and Joseph Flickinger at the home south of Mountain View, Oklahoma on June 21, 1925. She passed from this life on January 24, 2020 at her home in Fort Cobb.

Her father passed away in February 1926 when she was only 7 months old. Betty had 5 brothers and 1 sister. They lived on the family farm located 6 miles south of Mountain View on the Ozark Trial. Betty attended grade and high school at Sedan and graduated in May 1942. She attended Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma from 1942-1946.

Betty married Adolph Frank Jr at her mother's home on May 26, 1946. To this union was born 2 daughters, Amelia Ann and Linda Beth and 1 son, Joe Brian.

Betty and Adolph lived south of Mountain View until they moved to Fort Cobb in 1952 where they have made their home since then. betty worked as a clerk/typist for the Soil Conservation Service and West Caddo Conservation District from 1953 to 1982, then she transferred to Chickasha Watershed & River Basin office, retiring in 1985 after 32 1/2 years. During her working years and when the children were young, she was blessed to have 2 special neighbors, Emma Rexroat and Minnie Pack who baby sat her children and were like family to all of them and also a very special friend, JoAnn Spies. Betty and Adolph were in the antique business after they retired. Betty joined the Methodist Church at an early age at Sedan and moved her membership to Fort Cobb Methodist Church in 1953. She has served at various times as a Sunday School teacher, President of Fidelia Circle, Secretary to Official Board, on the Board of Trustees, Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and helped audit church books. She also worked with Girl Scouts and served as cookie chairman for 10 years. She and Adolph loved to travel and she liked to cook for her family, quilt, needlepoint, crochet and sewed for her daughters.

After 53 years of marriage to her beloved husband Adolph, he preceded her in death on September 30, 1999. Also preceding her in death is her oldest daughter, Amelia Ann Didier; her son-in-law, Dan Didier; her parents; 5 brothers: Marston, Melvin, John, Don, and Winfrey Flickinger; her only sister, Gladys Zimmerman; sisters-in-law, Eulala, Bula, and Alberta Flickinger and Betty Dominick; her brothers-in-law, Estil Zimmerman and Don Dominicks.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda Beth Wall and husband, Gerald; son, Joe Brian Frank; grandchildren: Tony Didier, Traci Smith and husband, Terry, Kyle Lee Wall and wife, Sally; great grandson, Taylor Williams; great granddaughters: Mattie Ann Wall and Josie Katherine Wall; sisters-in-law: Roberta Flickinger and Patricia Nelson and husband, Kenny along with several nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the Fort Cobb Funeral Home.
