Obituary for Eldon Wayne Haas

Eldon Wayne Haas of Shawnee, Oklahoma was born June 27, 1941 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Louis and Myrtle (Osborne) Haas. He passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 in Shawnee. Eldon attended Prairie Lone School, Fort Cobb and Carnegie Schools. He married Sharlet Harris on December 24, 1964 in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He worked for Carlos Squires in Alfalfa before moving to Cordell. Eldon Worked for Dolese for 18 years serving as manager of the Cordell plant.

Due to health problems, Eldon moved to Shawnee in 1997 and cared for his widowed mother for 22 years. During this time he had colon cancer three different times.

Eldon loved fishing, camping, and gardening. He was a good cook, grilling and smoking meat. He enjoyed Saturday breakfast with friend, Sherri Enderson.

He passed away at his home in Shawnee on April 11, 2019 after an extended illness.

Eldon is preceded in death by his father and step mother, and brother, Carl Earp.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother; son, Darrell Haas of Thomas; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers: Michael Haas of Dill City, Larry Haas and wife, Linda of Weatherford, Michael Butler of Earlsboro and Bob and Emma Earp of Thomas; sisters: Sue Yearwood and husband, Max of Eakly, Linda Kazen and husband, Ray of Koshkonong, Missouri, Margie James of Dill City and Linda Sue Thomson of Dill City; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Cobb on Monday, April 15, 2019 with Rev. Michael McDaniel officiating. Services were under the direction of the Fort Cobb Funeral Home in Fort Cobb.
