Obituary for Neaomi Tilley

Neaomi Tilley was born June 13, 1940 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Pearl and Ed Shuffield. She passed away from this life at age 79, January 4, 2020.
Neaomi remained in Fort Cobb, where she grew up and went to school, and was a player on the basketball team. After graduating high school, she worked for several years as the Fort Cobb City Clerk, and later went on to become the owner of the Alamo Café on Main Street. She operated the café for many years, until she decided to retire. Shortly thereafter though, she discovered that she was not ready to retire and went back into the restaurant business operating a small burger shop for a few more years. She developed many friends along the way.
She married Richard Tilley on February 2, 1961 in Wellington, Texas.
Neaomi was a loving caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending the baseball and basketball games with her husband, cheering her children and grandchildren on. Neaomi loved to travel, visiting many national parks, and other tourist attractions. She could discuss interstates and towns along the interstates with ease. She also enjoyed having her family over for get-togethers and preparing delicious meals for them.
Neaomi was preceded in death by her husband Richard Tilley, two sons, Ricky Dutton and Perry Tilley, her parents Pearl and Ed Shuffield, her sister Helen Dailey, and her two brothers Charles Shuffield and Earl Manly, her grandparents, and other relatives.
Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Ricky and Sallie Tilley of Fort Cobb, Ok, and Tony and Kathy Tilley of Nashville Tn, thirteen grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Neaomi was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb. It was Neaomi’s wish that there be no funeral services as she wished to be remembered for her life, and not her death.
Arrangements under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home, Fort Cobb, OK
