Obituary for Perry J Tilley

Perry Joe Tilley was born July 26, 1958 to Richard and Sally Sumner Tilley in Fort Cobb Oklahoma. He passed away April 18, 2019 in Lawton Oklahoma.

Perry was well respected and loved in his professional life. He served in the United States Navy for 3 years. He then spent the majority of his adult life working as a journeyman drywall technician. Perry never failed to make new friends at the numerous construction projects he worked on and had a story to tell about each one. In 2012 he began a new career as part of the original Caddo County 9-11 center working as a dispatcher. He was very proud to be a part of that team and truly enjoyed his time there. In 2014, Perry took a dispatch position with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He felt a great sense of purpose serving alongside and assisting the law enforcement officers in both positions. He built many friendships at both the BIA and Caddo County that he considered family.

Perry was known as Perpaw to his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He loved being a grandpa more than any other role in life. Whether it was fishing, shooting guns, playing video games, or just being silly together, his grandchildren are blessed with many memories of him that they will continue cherish.

Perry is preceded in death by his father, Richard Tilley; his grandparents Neal and Maudie Tilley; Joseph and Hazel Hall Sumner; and one grandson, Noah Franklin.

Perry is survived by his daughters and their families; Kami and Jeff Franklin of Fort Cobb, Sally
Tilley and Chance Iams of Anadarko, Stormi and Tyler Parker of Anadarko; his grandchildren,
Max and his wife Neesa, Logan, and Neiley Franklin; Archer and Foster Iams; and Amari and
Zayden Martin. He is also survived by his mother, Sally Sumner Shinabery; his brothers; Rick Tilley, Tony Tilley, Robert "Moe" Davis, Michael Davis, Patrick Shinabery, and Jon Shinabery; as well as many loved nieces and nephews and his companion, Mary Smith of Anadarko.

A celebration of life will be held for Perry on May 18th at 2:00 p.m., at the Fort Cobb-Broxton High School Multi-Purpose room. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and share stories, memories, and pay their final respect to Perry.
