Barbara Ann Sadler

Barbara Ann (Cook) Sadler was born on August 11, 1941, in Stuart, Oklahoma, to Lee Richard Cook and Lillie Belle (Cook) Short. She passed from this life on October 6, 2024, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Barbara was raised in the Oney area during her younger years. On March 2, 1959, she married Robert Walter Sadler in Wichita Falls, Texas. After marriage the two moved to California and called this home for over thirty years. To this union was born two children, Truman and Shelli. During this time, she worked as a central supply clerk at Adventist Health for over 20 years. After retirement Barbara and Robert moved back to Oklahoma. In 1994 the two called Anadarko their home. The two shared fifty-six years together before Robert’s passing on January 3, 2015. After moving to Anadarko Barbara joined two clubs the Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) and the Oklahoma Prairie Quilters. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, sewing, and quilting. She enjoyed making her family slippers for gifts on special occasions. She was always on the look for garage and estate sales to see what deals she could find. Her life was centered around her family and she always gave them her best focus and attention. She was a loving mother and adored grandmother. She loved spending time with all her grands and great grands. She leaves a gap that could never be filled and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Barbara is survived by her son, Truman Sadler of Anadarko, Oklahoma, daughter, Shelli Birch and husband Robert of Anadarko, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Mandy Sadler of California, Brandy Carrier and husband Brandon of California, Andrea McCreary and husband Brent of California, Jaret Hipp of Oklahoma, and Stacie Hipp and husband Chris Alessandro of Arizona, great grandchildren, Kyle Carrier, Marshall Smith, Kennedy Smith, Chloe Sadler, Haley Carrier, and Alanah Hipp, great-great grandchildren, Braxton Carrier and Brielle Carrier, and two very special nieces, Cheryl Orr and Sonja Agpawa. Also a very special sister-in-law, Sheryl Ann “Sherry” Mortimer. Along with a host of nieces and nephews. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lillie Cook, her husband Robert Sadler, brother, Chester Cook, and sisters, Joyce Sandeoval and Mildred Prewer. Visitation for Barbara is set to be held from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service to honor the life of Barbara is set to begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Danny Birch officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
