Daniel Edward Pipestem

Daniel Edward Pipestem sunrise was on April 5, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Daniel Pipestem and Grace (Stephenson) Pipestem. His sunset was on August 2, 2024, at his home in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Daniel and his family moved to Texas at the age of 4. He grew up in Texas and met his lifetime friend, Carlos Guzman. They attended school and enlisted in the Army together. Right after graduation he began his service with the United States Army until 1969. In 1976, he moved his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the opportunity to attend Spartan School of Aeronautics’. In 1978, he graduated with his bachelors in Aviation. Daniel built a house in Binger, Oklahoma in 1979; this house became their home for several years. Daniel proudly worked as a Pilot Instructor for 17 years. In 2003, he was an aircraft dispatcher until his retirement in 2008. Daniel was proud of his Wichita heritage and was an enrollee of the Otoe-Missouria tribe. In 1968, Daniel met the love of his life Ina Rae Marshall in 1968. The two wed in Dallas Texas in 1976. They spent 26 wonderful years together before her passing on August 1, 1994. Daniel absolutely loved going to the casinos, it was his greatest pass time. He enjoyed long road trips and in his later years learning how to swim. He loved to watch the OU/Texas rivalry games. He was a Texas fan for years, but the last few years had been rooting for OU. He was a family man and loved them dearly. His greatest treasure was his grandkids… until the great grands came along! Left to cherish the memory of Daniel are his daughters, Cynthia Grace Pipestem of Noble, Oklahoma, Roxanne Elizabeth Pipestem of Yukon, grandkids, James, Nakota, Lyle, Raymond, Rae’Leigh, Soukea, William, and Marlena, and great grands, Lyam, Loyle, and Amaryah. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Grace Pipestem, wife Ina Rae Pipestem, sons, Lyle Franklin and John Miles, and great granddaughter, Nyla. Visitation for Daniel is set to be held from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service to honor the life of Daniel is set to begin at 12:30 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest at the Rock Springs Wichita Tribal Cemetery following the service. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
