Edna Irene Winn

Edna Alldredge Winn was born October 18, 1917 in Caddo County to Charley and Clara Nelson Alldredge. She was called to her Heavenly home on September 30, 2015. Edna married Laurence Edward Winn on October 21, 1933 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They were farmers in the Anadarko and Verden communities. They attended Elderberry Baptist and New Hope Baptist churches. To this union were born five daughters, eighteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, and twenty four great great grandchildren, ALL of whom she was very proud of and loved. Since Edna had 5 loving daughters, she was considered an expert seamstress and sewed all of their clothes. Music was valued and a piano was bought for the girls to take piano lessons. It's now being played by the fourth generation. Most of the grandchildren and great grandchildren also value music and many sing and play other instruments as well. Her husband, Laurence, also contributed to their love of music by his singing alot of an evening on the old front porch. She loved children and doted on her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many hours playing with them. At the age of 80, she was still building forts and playing with them on the floor. She was also an accomplished Wahoo player as the grandchildren will attest to. Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Laurence, a daughter, Nadine Conn Roberts; granddaughters: Jeanette Ferris, Diana Ferris, and Teresa Adams DuVall; great grandson, Kody Turner; her parents, Charley and Clara Alldredge; brothers: Robert, Jeff, and Wayne Alldredge; sister, Margie Alldredge; sons-in-law: Carl Conn, Al Roberts, Duane Ferris, Rev. Bob Settle, and Ray Adams. Edna is survived by her daughters: Alene Settle, Naomi Coleman, and husband, Gerald, Nina Ferris, and Beverly Adams; Grandchildren: Carla Wideman, Rodger Settle and wife, Dorothy, Joy and husband, Rev. Wesley Warren, Debbie and husband, Jack Wilkins, Beverly Burton and husband, Floyd, Robert Conn, Crystal Coleman, Carmel Penner and husband, Randy, Robert Coleman and wife, Toni, Richard Coleman and wife Elena, Cletus Adams, Randy Adams and wife Kathy, David Adams and Jesse (J.D.) Adams and Denise Wells; brother, Donald Alldredge and wife, Alene; sister, Charlene Jones as well as numerous other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Bro. Vance Haskins and Bro. Dennis King will officiate. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Pallbearers: (grandchildren) Robert Conn, Rodger Settle, Robert and Richard Coleman, and Cletus and Randy Adams. Honorary Pallbearers: David and J.D. Adams, and Gerald Coleman. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
