Faye Irene Gonzalez

Irene Gonzalez was born February 10, 1948 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Martin E. and Faith C. (Herring) Bryant. She was called home by the Lord on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years old. Irene was born and raised in Anadarko and attended Anadarko Public School. She moved with her parents to Casa Grande, Arizona and lived there for several years before moving back to Anadarko and living there the remainder of her life. She married M.Y. "Frank" Gonzalez on July 9, 1987 in Lubbock, Texas. Irene enjoyed caring for children, she babysat many kids and worked at Discovery Daycare. She also worked for Verden schools as a janitor for 20 years. Irene loved singing, cooking large meals, going to garage sales, and doing arts and crafts with her Sunday school classes. In her free time, Irene enjoyed watching western movies especially ones that featured John Wayne. She also loved going fishing, working word search puzzles, drinking coca-cola, and spending time with loved ones--especially her three grandchildren that came to live with her for a time. Irene was a very strong-willed, God fearing woman. Although she was in much pain, she didn't complain--she would always say, "I'm fine!" when asked how she was doing.Pallbearers- Donnie Hughes, John Fulton, Russell and Errick Pederson, and Marty and Monty BryantSurvivors include- Husband M.Y. Great grandchildren: R.J., Bailegh, and Angel Hughes, Sabrina Medrano and Castiel Fulton, Kymbri Porter, Samuel and Skylar Cozad.Preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters- Alice Flaherty, Lloyd "Buck" Bryant, Pearl Dansby, Jesse Wilson, Andy Bryant, James Bryant, Lena Belle Harris, Billy Bryant, Jay Dee Bryant and Wayne Bryant.Funeral services will be Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel Anadarko, Oklahoma with burial to follow at 1:00 pm at Ft.
