Hillard Lynn Horn4/16/1930 â€" 7/28/2020Hillard Lynn Horn of Anadarko peacefully journeyed to his heavenly home in the early evening hours of July 28, 2020.He was the second eldest child born to Fate Horn and Annie (Cossey) Horn on April 16, 1930, in a rural home northeast of Fort Cobb. He was raised in the Washita area graduating from Washita High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. On completion of his service he attended and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation he was involved in the land excavation and dozer business started by his father. He also spent many years with the Department of Human Services as a social service representative. In his retirement years he drove a school bus for Anadarko Public Schools.He never met a stranger and loved to visit. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always left you feeling good. He was great at one linerâ€™s and always had just the right response. During one of his last telephone conversations with his daughter-in-law, she stated, â€œI would like to give you a hugâ€ to which he quickly responded, â€œwe will get two the next timeâ€ . He married Nancy Pitts August 31, 1958 and they had two sons Mike and Larry. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, Son Larry, grandson Seth, brothers Glen and Bub Horn, sister Barbara Skipworth, brothers-in-law Donald Skipworth and Milton Smith. Left to cherish his memory, he is survived by his sister Hazel Smith; son Mike and wife Jeanne; grandchildren â€" Tiffany McKinnis, Jayme Horn, Jayson Horn and Chelsea Horn; great grandchildren - Brice McKinnis, Addison Garza and River Ferris; sister-in-law Alita Horn, daughter-in-law Sharon Horn, nieces Vickie Horn, Connie Horn, Debbie Hoffman, Terri Hodges, Judy Palesano and Kay Ross; nephews Donnie Skipworth and John Horn and a host of many neighbors and friends.In his later years he enjoyed the company of his four-legged friend, â€œTEXâ€ .As he parted for his heavenly journey he left us with his favorite song, Happy Trails by Roy Rogers and Dale Evansâ€¦.. â€œHappy Trails to you until we meet again (in heaven) â€" He Loved Westerns!Interment will be in Memory Lane Cemetery Anadarko, OKServices under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, OK.Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at: www.smithfuneralservices.com
