Larry Dennis Newell

Larry Dennis Newell, a lifetime resident of Gracemont and Anadarko, was called home by the Lord on, May 22, 2024, at his home with family by his side. Dennis was born on September 24, 1950, at the Anadarko Hospital to Bob and Lorrine Newell. He met and married the love of his life, Donna Kay Abbott, on August 23, 1969. They were blessed with two children, Christopher Newell and Nicona Schneider. Newell retired from AT&T with thirty years of service and then began farming and raising cattle with his father until his death. Dennis attended the Cowboy Church North of Gracemont. He was a caregiver for the Spring Creek Cemetery and a member of the National Guard in Anadarko from 1969 to 1975. Dennis enjoyed his life and always had a smile on his face. He was very proud of his many acquaintances and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Dennis is survived by his wife, Donna Newell; son, Chris Newell and wife Krystal; daughter, Niki Schneider and husband Ryan; six grandsons, Dr. J. Dalton Newell and wife Kass, Barrett Newell and wife Lauren, Montana Newell and wife Hunter, Ryley Schneider and wife Macy, Rody Schneider, and Rett Schneider; four great granddaughters, Masyn Newell, Nyla Newell, Wylee Newell, and Huxlee Newell; brother, Jack Newell and wife Alece; sister, Nelda Tate and husband John; nephews, Mike Newell and wife Traci, and Eric Newell and wife Patty, nieces Lorrie Newell and Paula Tate. Also, numerous other in-laws, nieces and nephews. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lorrine Newell and a nephew, Brent Tate. In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to go toward memorial belt buckles for the Binger-Oney Ballfield Invitational Livestock Show during the Binger Fair. Address, Legacy Bank PO Box B Binger, OK 73009 A celebration of life for Dennis is set to begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Cowboy Church North of Gracemont, Oklahoma. Dennis requested that his ashes be scattered on the banks of Spring Creek. His grandchildren will scatter wildflower seeds along the bank as well. Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
