Mr. Kris Daniel Taptto

Kris Taptto, 50, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, passed peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, January 18, 2015 at his home with his loving family at his side. A Rosary/Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Anadarko. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the St. patrick's Catholic Church in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Burial will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Kris was born on April 24, 1964 to Patricia and Bob Taptto. He attended and graduated from Anadarko School in 1982 and made many lifelong friends. He attended college at USAO in Chickasha. He then attended the Federal BIA Law Enforcement Training Center in Marana, Arizona and became a BIA Law Enforcement Officer. He worked for the National Park Service from 1982 to 1983 in Sulphur, Oklahoma and for the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. He was also a Security Officer for the Kiowa Tribe. Kris enjoyed fishing, hiking, and being close to nature. He could be found in the stands of Anadarko Warrior Football, basketball, and softball games. He and his son took part in many hunting adventures, which he treasured greatly. Kris was quite the fisherman, teaching his kids and their friends how to reel 'em in. He liked watching the old John Wayne & Clint Eastwood western movies, and listening to various artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Lynard Skynard, Elvis and the Beatles. Kris was a loving, caring, and kind husband and father who thought the world of his kids and family. He was a quiet and gentle man who will be forever missed by all. Kris leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharon Taptto; daughters: Kelli Taptto and Shannon Marie Taptto Martinez and her husband, Randy; son, Eric Taptto; granddaughter, Allison; special cousin, Nick Lopez; Mother, Patricia Taptto, brother, Mike Taptto, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Kris is preceded in death by his father, Bob Taptto; his brother, Russell Taptto; paternal grandmother, Susie Tawkoyty; aunt, Ruby Lopez; maternal grandparents: Bill and Lottie Quoetone and uncle William Larry Quoetone. A meal in Kris's honor will be held at the St. Patrick's Church activities building after the cemetery services. All are welcome to attend.
