Myrtle Lee Butler

Services for Myrtle Lee Butler will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Fort Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Cobb.Myrtle was born February 13, 1925 to John and Sallie Thacker Osborne near Carnegie, Oklahoma. Myrtle attended Prairie Lone School and Carnegie School during grade school. Myrtle's parents moved to Oklahoma from Kentucky. They lived through the depression and dust bowl, eventually settling in the Anadarko and Chickasha area.Myrtle lived at Wetumka several years, later moving to Shawnee, Oklahoma where her husband, Bennie Butler was an employee of Oklahoma Natural Gas for 35 years until his retirement. He then manged Meadow Ridge Mobile Home Park until his death in 1996.Myrtle enjoyed her family and grandchildren; traveling with children to Colorado, Branson and Eureka Springs. She rode the train from Durango to Silverton with Sue in 2009. She was a homemaker and a very good cook. Granddaughters, Krystle and Ashley spent a lot of time with grandparents in Shawnee. Danney, Rhyan and Harper were regular drop-ins after school. Son, Eldon was her companion and excellent care giver for 22 years.Myrtle passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the of 94 at the home of her daughter, sue Yearwood where she had resided since Eldon's death in April of this year.Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Butler; son, Eldon Haas; her parents and all her siblings including three sisters and one brother.Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sue yearwood and husband, Max of Eakly, Linda Kazen and husband Raymond of Koshkonong, Missouri and Michael Butler and wife, Sherri of Earlsboro; grandchildren: Ashley Butler of Maud, Krystle Price and husband Tommy of Shawnee, Mark Yearwood of Shawnee, Zach Brown and wife, Heather of Shawnee, Hunter Brown of Earlsboro, Darrell Haas of Thomas, Cynthia Sheesley and husband, Doug of Colorado Springs and Brian Russ of Delaware. Fifteen great grandchildren, Fourteen great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.smithfuneralservices.com
