Obituary for Meredith Parton

On Sunday, July 7th, 2019, Meredith John Parton went home to be with the Lord. He will never be forgotten and be deeply missed by all who were left behind. Meredith was born to Fred and Lucille (Mann )Parton on April 6, 1948 in Oklahoma City. He was the oldest of 5 sons. He grew up mostly in Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1966. After high school he followed up with college as a music major. He was very talented in singing and playing the flute and also the clarinet. In addition to this he also spent quite some time studying music at Yale University. Meredith's hobbies and favorite past times were of course watching OU sports. He always loved cheering them on, When he was younger he enjoyed watching his brothers play softball and his dad coach them. He also loved watching his grandkids play sports and participate in all kinds of activities. He was a proud grandpa of all the accomplishments of his grand children. His love knew no boundaries with them and his family, To Meredith family meant everything even if it meant taking risks he still did it. He was a very loving, caring and kind man, brother, cousin, grandpa, uncle and friend. If you knew Meredith Parton you could count yourself as being the lucky one-----He was a special kind of person. Meredith, thank you for being part of our lives.

Meredith was preceded in death by Frederick Emon Parton and Mamie Lucille Mann Parton. Dwight "Dusty" Parton and his paternal grandparents: Homer Parton and Jane Shemamay and maternal grandparents were Fred and Ruth Porcupine Mann.

Meredith is survived by Michael Parton of Albuquerque, NM; Fred Jr. Parton of Wenoka, Ok; Steven and Charise Parton of Moore, OK and his sister-in-law Linda Parton of Anadarko, OK.
His aunt Brenda Shemayme of Weatherford OK. Two nieces; Dustllynn Parton and Darrin of Anadarko, OK and Danelle Parton of Isletta, NM. Two nephews: Lance Parton of OKC and Michael Emon of Albuquerque, NM. Three neices; Keri Obe, Natalie Parton and Emily Parton of Anadarko OK: Three nephews: Austin Obe, Gary Parton and Mack Parton of Anadarko. Nine granddaughters: Evangeline, Angel, Haillie, Hailene, Kylie, Claa Jane, Maelena, Khalaya and Brileigh. Grandsons: Josh Parton, Ben Parton, Christopher Cisco, Daniel Cisco and Patrick Cozad. Great-Grandchildren: Draysen Parten and Talisa Edge. Numerous other cousins and extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
