Ralph Lester Schoonover

Ralph L. Schoonover, 76, passed away on Thursday, February 16th, 2023 in Lawton, OK. He was born on November 20th, 1946 in Anadarko, OK to Ira and Joyce (Tilley) Schoonover. Ralph lived all of his life in Fort Cobb. He attended and graduated from Fort Cobb High School in the mid 1960's. Shortly after his graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served his country during the Viet Nam Era. He worked many years at the Fort Cobb State Park Golf course. He enjoyed playing pool, watching Nascar and doing a little drag racing himself. He loved spending time with his family and friends, cracking jokes, and telling stories. He especially enjoyed watching the children open their gifts at Christmas. He was master with a pool cue as attested by the multiple trophies on display in his house, and he passed that talent and knowledge on to many by giving pool lessons. He was also a good drag racer, and won many trophies on the track as well. Ralph was a deep well of information regarding vitamins and health supplements, and was always ready to offer some healthy advice. Ralph was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, and was simply a good man who had a kind word for everyone one he met. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ira and Joyce Schoonover, infant sister Phyllis, and sister Ruth Hardesty.He is survived by:His brother-in-law: Ronnie Hardesty and his wife, Kaye of Mtn.
