Reverend Donnie Edmondson

Donnie Edmondson was born January 28, 1956 and left this world to the arms of Jesus on September 27, 2018. He had waiting on him his grandparents: Lee and Lela Edmondson, Link and Hazel Schear; his parents, Daniel and Norma Schear Edmondson; infant siblings, Danny Lee and Vicky Lynne and brother, Mike Edmondson.Donnie was born in Lawton, Oklahoma. He attended 1st thru 12th grade in Anadarko School. He was in the graduating class of 1974, a family of its own.Donnie married Rhonda Taylor on June 10, 1983. From this union they raised 5 children.Donnie is survived by his wife, Rhonda "HoneyLove"; his children: Michael and wife, Vanda Edmondson, Karie and husband, Bobby Lane, Jennifer and husband, Nathan Netahla, Elizabeth and husband, Kyle Dickson and Sarah and husband, David Nunn; his grandchildren: Sydnye, Coleman, Halie, Wyatt, Parker, Landon, Reagan, Kristian, Maddox, Casey and Rhett; 2 great grandchildren; his twin sister, Debbie and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A special couple and camping buddies, Brian and Pamela Pogue and people God put in his life.Donnie held many titles in his life, Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Poppy and Friend but the one he held most dear was Christian and Pastor. He took the rolls very seriously. He and Rhonda owned and operated Lee's Carpet & Air Duct Service for many years before retiring in 2014. He was a missionary to Mexico, he pastored at Virginia Avenue Baptist Church and was the intern pastor at First Baptist Church in Verden. He was very passionate about people, his country and his community. He was a board member of the Pregnancy Support Center of Caddo County, he served on the City Council, the Caddo Baptist Association and the Ministerial Alliance and also worked at Smith Funeral Home. He has held positions in the church from janitor to the pastor and did all things with much sincerity and commitment. He will be missed by many.Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Verden, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko.
