Ruby Mae Cato

Ruby Mae Cato, 85, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Carnegie Nursing Home in Carnegie, Oklahoma, where she had been a resident for the past six years. She was born July 9, 1925 to Melvin and Ozella (Littles) Johnson in Lorena, Texas. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Anadarko, Oklahoma with the class of 1945. She also attended Langston University for two years. She was united in marriage to James H. Cato on March 15, 1946 in Fort Cobb, OK from this union was born three children. Ruby was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend. She enjoyed working cross word puzzles, embordering, listening to gospel music going to church. She loves the Lord and was very thankful for all he had blessed her with, especially her family. whom she loved dearly. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by, two sons; James L. Cato and wife, Carolyn Sue of Anadarko, OK, Louis Cato and wife, Pam of Anadarko, OK, one daughter, Ruby Post and husband, Phillip of Binger, OK twenty three grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. five brothers, Melvin Johnson Jr. and wife, Clarece of Fort Cobb, OK, Edgar Johnson and wife, Alice of Fort Cobb, OK. ,Ben Johnson and wife, Lulu of Fort Cobb, OK, Lonnie Johnson and wife, Jean of TX, Tommy Johnson and wife, Doris of Ontario, Cal, one sister, Almittie Samuels of Anadarko, OK, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, James, three sisters, Norvi Lee Williams, Imogene Richardson and Faye Blair, one grandson, Keith Cato and one granddaughter, Brandee Cato. Home going celebration: 11:00 .M. , Saturday, May 7, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, OK Officiating: Rev. A.G. Burrus, Rev. Vernon Winston and Rev.
